I use this in my game room for adult play primarily, so my standards are quite high. I started out with a game from Sportcraft. Then, due to it's poor craftsmanship and TERRIBLE customer support, I got this as a replacement. Here are a few thoughts and comparisonsSPORTCRAFT: The GOODThe sportcraft models have more "innovative" software. It has the ability to pick and choose different game types, customize times, etc... This is a really cool feature. I also like the sound effects better from Sportcraft, it has more interesting/inviting game allure during play. However, even it would be interesting to expand and have other options (like switching baskets after a period of time). 'SPORTCRAFT: The BADThe quality of pretty much everything is pretty terrible. Everything was made to be as cheap as possible and that "cheapness" gets passed on to me, so I don't pay much. The downside is the balls are all lopsided, and after a few days of play the counter stops functioning correctly, the ability to choose which game (buttons) get stuck and don't work very well, the net fabric is week and starts to unravel, the backboard sticker is pealing off (I could go on) ... all in all very very cheap quality. Also, attempting to get a replacement for anything just aint going to happen. I have requests in for at least 6 parts now (for over 4 months) and I don't expect to ever get them.LIFETIME DOUBLE SHOT: The GOODIt is a really good quality product, everything is a thicker gauge of metal, better rims better bolts better lots of things. I've read bad things about the IR sensor from other people, but I haven't had a mis-count yet (with the exception of double balls going in too fast ... but this was the same issue on the "clicker" type as well). [...]All in all, it's sturdy, and functions the way it was meant to.LIFETIME DOUBLE SHOT: The BADFor me, I feel not offering any variance in the game types makes the game much less attractive. This game retails for 2x the retail price of the Sportcraft (and the quality shows it), but still It's a little disappointing there isn't any other fun options. The game takes up so much real estate having some multi-options would have provided some cool variations to flavor it up. Also, as mentioned already, the sounds and "Countdown" are a bit bland ... a little boring really. I'd like them to look at the "professional arcade games" out currently and take a page from there book.OTHER COMPARISONS:Sportcraft uses batteries which provides move-ability, however the batteries die QUICKLY. While LIFETIME requires a AC plug. It's nice to never have to change the batteries. IDEALLY you could have BOTH. That way, I can pull it outside for a party with no power and it would work fine, but for regular use it would stay tucked in and plugged in.LIFETIME has an adjustable height (two options), but I was able to manually "cut" one of the extension posts to be in-between the two. This allows for a considerable taller game than SPORTCRAFT (which I prefer)BOTTOM LINE:I Love the product, but I would gladly have paid another $50-$100 if they added some of the other cool features (better sound, and game variance). Otherwise, this game is tons of fun.

Santa brought this and it has recieved a ton of use. We had so much fun that my friend purchased one and it started an epic battle. We started with records of 123, 148 and decided to up the game. We then went to 168 and then 189. We came to the conclusion that 200 could be broken. We hit 193, 196 and finally today 200 was broken (206). But to our unbelief the counter quit counting. This is a major flaw. It is an amazing machine and I love it. I believe every home should have one. But why does a counter not go past 200. We worked so hard to break 200 and the electronics won't count it. I give this product 5 stars on every thing except for the 200 issue. It needs to be corrected.

I have been competing with a friend who also owns a double shot. It has been a blast and the records have been rapidly increasing. I broke the previous record of 195 today with 206. The problem is that it stops counting at 200! We were so disappointed. I know 200 seems impossible to the casual doubleshotter but it is reality. I have two adult witnesses. I believe 210+ is possible. They need a scoreboard upgrade to make the score go past 200. I feel like I have now topped out because I won't know an accurate score over 200. I love this game. Please help lifetime!!!!

We bought this for our kids for Christmas and began assembling it about 2 days prior to the holiday. Unfortunately we were missing some keys parts and were afraid we would not have it ready for the holiday. A quick call to customer service immediately rectified the problem and the representative sent us an entire set of parts [...] Our kids have been playing it nonstop! It was easy to assemble (if you follow the directions) and the construction appears sturdy. It's wonderful to be able to adjust the height if needed and to fold it up when not in use to maximize space. The automatic scoring and timer definitely adds to the fun! A great indoor complement to our Lifetime portable basketball system!
